About me

I specialize in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking, Mutual Funds, Auditing, Business, Marketing and the following legal areas: Licensing and Commercial Law, Contract Law. I also handle advertising copy and localization into Greek or into English, in cooperation with a team of copywriters.

My clients are located in Europe and the U.S.A. and I work on an ongoing basis for many well known clients and agencies (information available upon request). A portfolio of translations in my areas of specialization and various language pairs is also available upon request.

Degrees in Economics and Business, coupled with many years in business (executive positions with UNICEF, BBDO Advertising, Fashion Publications International, Warner Bros. Licensing) assure my clients of the extra insider knowledge required to render perfect translations in the subjects I specialize in.

Qualifications

• Italian quasi-native (I grew up in Italy, have one Italian parent and continue to spend time and conduct a significant amount of business there. Infact over 60% of my translation work this past year has been from Italian into English, as I work on an ongoing basis for the 2 most prestigious Milanese ranslation agencies specializing in finance and economics and regularly work on large projects for very well known Italian companies ).
• I am an expert speaker of French (over 12 years of intensive course work and 2 years of residence in French-speaking Switzerland)

I also edit Greek and English texts, whether translated from French, Greek or Italian, or as monolingual texts.

Experience

1999-2001: Marketing Director – Warner Bros. Licensing, Greece. Marketing of Warner Bros intellectual properties and translation of contracts, style guides and all other intellectual property material.

1997-1999: General Manager of FASHION PUBLICATIONS INTERNATIONAL, Greece. Publishing fashion magazines (NEXT and FashionLine) in Greek, English, French and Italian.

1993-1997: Communications Director for BBDO Group, Greece - the Greek branch of BBDO Worldwide Advertising. Translation included advertising copy, conference materials, articles, research projects, business, legal and financial documents, correspondence and presentations in Greek, Italian, English and French combinations.

1992-1993: Marketing and Communications Director for UNICEF, Greece translating a large number of documents, research publications, marketing material, articles and booklets from French and English into Greek and from Greek into French and English - with frequent trips to UNICEF headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and to UNICEF conferences worldwide.

1988-1992: 4 years as a full time freelance translator working in Washington, DC with a large number of US translation agencies on all types of documents, ranging from research projects, product brochures, legal documents, software manuals and much more, in Greek, Italian, French and English combinations. I also did considerable transcribing work from Greek to English, English to Greek and Italian to English.
